Description

Habit: Saprobic on submerged; ascomata immersed in wood with beaks protruding.
Ascomata: Ascomata 580-630 x 348-380 µm, immersed in decorticated wood, scattered, obpyriform, straight or titlted, protruding beaks, membranous, black. Ascotaiwania hughesii - Ascomata
Peridium: Peridium 40-45 µm wide, comprised of several layers, brown, of textura angularis in surface view, composed of 7-9(-12) compressed brown cells; cells 4.5-9(-13) x 1.5-2 µm. Ascotaiwania hughesii - Peridium
