Description

Habit: Saprobic, ascomata immersed or partially immersed in submerged, dead woody debris.
Ascomata: Ascomata 448–468 x 293–312 µm, scattered or aggregated, partially immersed, obpyriform to oblong, black, with a short beak. Pseudoproboscispora caudae-suis - Ascomata
Peridium: Peridium 19.5–27.5 µm thick, composed of 5 to 7 layers of rather large brown pseudoparenchymatic cells, thicker toward the base of the beak, 35–58.5 µm; cells 10–18 x 2–8 µm, outer cells darker, inner cells subhyaline, textura angularis in face view and median longitudinal section.
