Other info

Type & Location: Holotypus: AUSTRALIA; in Queenslandia septentrionali, Babinda, The Boulders, on submerged wood, Dec. 1991, K.D. Hyde 880, BRIP 21481.
Other Specimens:
Substratum: Submerged wood.
Habitat: Lotic.
Distribution: Australia; Costa Rica
Pertinent Literature: Hyde, K.D. 1995. Nova Hedwigia 61: 119–140.
Comments: In the Costa Rican collection, asci were discharged intact from the ascomata and the asci discharged spores by dehiscence of the ascus from the ascus base. The asci also deliquesce leaving the large apical rings lying in heaps on the wood surrounding the ascomata. This behavior was not noted for the type specimen.
