Description

Habit: Superficial with partially immersed base on submerged wood.
Ascomata: Ascomata 432–485 x 160–272 µm, scattered or aggregated, superficial with partially immersed base, upright to slightly tilted, hyaline, pyriform.
Peridium: Peridium 50–60 µm thick, composed of several layers of compressed hyaline cells; inner cells of textura angularis, 4–6 x 1–2 µm; outer cells of textura globosa, 3–4 x 2–3 µm.
Beak: Beak 240–272 x 120–200 µm, cylindrical, central, periphysate, with outer layer of globose cells.
Hamathecium: Paraphyses 2–3.5 µm wide, slightly broader at the base, extending beyond the asci, at times constricted at septa.
Ascus: Asci 129–184 x 7.5–12 µm, cylindrical, MLZ–, cotton blue negative, with a small apical apparatus, with 8 uniseriate ascospores.
Ascospore: Ascospores 16-28 x 6-8 µm, broadly fusiform, hyaline, 5-septate, not constricted at septa, with an inconspicuous sheath.
Sheath: Thin gelatinous sheath present.
