Neck 100–170 x 70–80 mm, cylindrical, dark brown. |

Hamathecium of catenophyses, 10–14 mm wide, septate, hyaline. |

Asci 320–350 x 24 mm, unitunicate, cylindrical, thin walled, lacking an apical pore and apical structures, 8-spored, uniseriate to overlapping uniseriate, early deliquescent, asci elongating in water. |

Ascospore: |
Ascospores 36–48 x 20–25 mm (mean = 39.95 x 20.69 mm, n = 30), broadly ellipsoidal-fusiform to ellipsoidal, hyaline, 3-septate, occasionally 5-septate, not constricted at septa, thick-walled (2.0–2.5 mm), surrounded by a gelatinous sheath about 6–10 mm wide. Ascospores accumulate as a mass at tip of the neck after discharge. |
